Canta Para Kanmo
(A Song for You)
Most of the songs that I wrote and composed are reminiscent of a quaint world bereft of materialism and technology, a world where life was still pure and simple.
"Canta Para Kanmo" (A Song for You) is about an undying love and passion of a man to a woman. It is in the category of ethnic “dawot” (love song), an antiphonal song where two lovers or ‘would be” lovers would sing their respective songs extemporaneously, expressing their love and affection for each other.
I performed this song in 2007 at The Podium, Philippines, during the opening of my one-man show and was accompanied by one of the leading Filipino acoustic guitarists Noli Aurillo.
